For those who have OCD, do they have trouble taking care of children? I imagine that some people with OCD have trouble keeping it together, especially if their kids don't have OCD. How does a parent with OCD raise a family? What problems do they face?

Not necessarily. People with OCD can be loving and responsible parents. Challenges arise when obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors interfere with daily routines or decision-making. With awareness, coping strategies, and professional support, individuals with OCD can effectively care for children without letting the condition dominate parenting.

That’s not entirely true. People with OCD can be loving and capable caregivers. Sometimes symptoms create stress around safety, routines, or intrusive thoughts, which might feel overwhelming. However, treatment, understanding, and good coping tools can make people with OCD manage parenting successfully and build strong, supportive relationships with their children.

OCD patients can take care of children. However, this depends a lot on the kind of OCD you are suffering from. OCD can lead to anxiety. Under such kind of conditions, it is always important to address the root cause of problem and address it. A person with OCD related to children should not be allowed to take care of children.
