Do you ever create art based on your schizophrenia?

I've always been curious what runs through the minds of those with Schizophrenia. I imagine a lot of people with Schizophrenia use their emotions to create art. I've heard of many painters and artists who draw or create art based off of what they feel or think. Some of it shows what is going on in their own head, while some use their art to get out of their own heads.

With that being said, those who have schizophrenia, do you like to create art to get your feelings out there? And if so, does it help with your mental health?

I don’t create art and I don’t have that condition. I have seen art created by people who live with it, and the expression in their work is powerful. It reflects emotion and perspective in ways that often feel deeper than traditional approaches.

When I was in my teens, I liked drawing and paining. After I was rejected from art school over poor work, I was so discouraged that I stopped doing it. Since I was a beginner I did not attempt to paint the images that came to my mind, I was basically copying others. I have seen a lot of artwork from people who had schizophrenia and those images were very scary.

I am not suffering from schizophrenia and I do not like to draw art or paint. I have tried to do that, but it did not work for me. It seems like certain things are simply not for you. People are different and this is why they have different hobbies.
