Does anyone here use reading literature as a way to help relieve stress? Why or why not? How does it help you?

reading is one of my favorite activities when I am stressed, anxious, or depressed. I find reading cathartic. I mostly read non fictions, especially Hindu and Buddhist philosophy

Yes, reading really helps relieve stress. Getting absorbed in a book can take your mind off worries, calm your thoughts, and provide a kind of mental escape. Fiction, in particular, lets you immerse yourself in another world, which is surprisingly relaxing.

I normally will read fiction because it provides a means of escape for a little bit. That's why it helps me to relax....

I have nothing against people who read non-fiction or people who read to learn something new. Everybody has their own thing and that's okay.
