Are People More Sensitive Today or More Aware of Emotional Health?

Increased awareness has made people more open about feelings. But some argue this leads to oversensitivity. Is society becoming more emotionally intelligent, or less resilient?

I think people are more aware of emotional health today, and this awareness has made people more sensitive. A lot of things that were normal are considered rude and insensitive by today's standards.

It’s likely a mix of both, but increased awareness plays a bigger role. People today better understand mental and emotional health, so they recognize stress, boundaries, and harmful behavior more clearly. What once went unnoticed is now openly discussed.

People today are generally more aware of emotional health, which can sometimes be perceived as sensitivity. Increased mental health education, social media discussions, and openness about feelings encourage recognition of emotions. This awareness helps support and empathy, even if reactions seem stronger than in previous generations.
