Some children form strong emotional bonds with chatbots or voice assistants, turning to them for comfort or validation. Could this shape attachment patterns later? What should caregivers watch for, and how can they encourage healthier emotional connections?

I think it’s possible but not automatic. AI companions can feel comforting and responsive, so kids might lean on them for interaction or reassurance. That doesn’t mean every child will become dependent, but without real-world social support and limits, there’s a risk they could substitute AI for human connection more than is healthy.
