Do you think a 4 day work and school week will help people?

In the US some schools have moved to a 4 day school week and now there is much interest in having 4 day work weeks instead of the usual 5 days a week 9-5 jobs. I think people are going to lose more jobs because of AI and its use in the job force. So maybe they can now allow people to have lesser work weeks.

Anyway, do you think that dropping down to a 4 day week would ease people's anxiety and stress with work?

Yes, a 4-day work or school week could help people by reducing burnout, improving focus, and giving more time for rest, hobbies, or family. Shorter weeks can boost productivity and well-being, though success depends on careful planning and workload management.

My husband and I both agree on this. We'd both rather work 10 hours a day for 4 days a week instead of working 8 hours a day for 5 days a week. Having that extra day off would be nice and you'd still get to work a 40 hour work week.

I used to work 10 hour shifts at my previous job. It was nice having three days off of work but I worked in a hot factory so being on my feet for hours was not fun. I could definitely work 10 hour shifts at my current job, I heard they used to have 10 hour shifts but since our volume has changed they had to move to 8 hour shifts so I doubt it'll ever return.
