Why do people struggle to recognize early signs of mental overload? Have you only realized you were overwhelmed after things became too much to manage? What early warning signs do you now pay attention to?

I think it happens because mental overload often builds up gradually. People get used to feeling tired, distracted, or irritable and assume it's just part of a busy life. By the time they notice it's affecting their focus, mood, or daily routines, they've often been under pressure for quite a while.

I think mental overload often builds so gradually that it's easy to normalize it. I've noticed the signs are usually less patience, poor focus, and feeling drained by small tasks. Those are my reminders to slow down before stress becomes much harder to manage.
