Parents often put on a brave face to shield their children, even when they're struggling. But bottling everything up can take a toll over time. Finding healthy ways to cope and seeking support may help both parent and child.

Do you think it's better to open up in age-appropriate ways?

I think parents don’t need to hide everything, but they should be careful about what they share and how they share it. Children benefit from honesty, but not from being burdened with adult problems they can’t process.

It’s usually healthier when parents acknowledge struggles in a calm, age-appropriate way, while still providing reassurance and stability. This helps children feel secure without feeling responsible for the situation.

I don't think parents should hide every struggle, but they also shouldn't place adult burdens on their children. Being honest in an age-appropriate way can teach resilience and trust, while also reassuring children that they're safe, loved, and not responsible for solving adult problems.

Well, it depends on the age of the said children. There are some age which a kid would never understand whatever you're going through as a parent. So, telling them wouldn't change anything because they can't and will never understand.

I think age-appropriate honesty is usually better than pretending everything is fine. Children don't need every detail, but they often notice when something is wrong. Seeing a parent acknowledge difficult feelings while coping in a healthy way can teach resilience and show that it's okay to ask for support.
