Constant exposure to crises can overwhelm people into apathy. How do you stay informed and caring without burning out emotionally?

Oh, I’ve felt that way before. When you worry too much you kill yourself unknowingly. There is a need to set limits and makeup time to rest and you must also realize that there's no need to solve everyone's problem because you cannot give what you don't have.

I try to stay informed without following the news constantly. Limiting how much I consume, choosing reliable sources, and focusing on things I can actually help with keeps me from feeling overwhelmed. Taking breaks also helps me stay caring without becoming emotionally exhausted.

I think it's important to stay informed without feeling like you have to absorb every headline. Constant exposure to difficult news can become emotionally draining. You need to limit news intake, take breaks from social media, and focus on actions you can actually take, even if they're small. Compassion fatigue doesn't mean you've stopped caring. It often means you've been caring for so long without enough time to recover. Taking care of yourself is part of staying able to care for others over the long term.
