Are We Normalizing Burnout in the Name of Productivity?

Long work hours and side hustles are often praised. Do you think this mindset harms long-term health? How do you personally recognize burnout signs? What boundaries have helped you protect energy without feeling unproductive or guilty?

I think we are normalizing burnout in the name of productive. Our employers demand us to work harder, spend more time at work, and in the mean time we also try to involve into more with work in the name of performance and better track record. All of these activities are pushing us towards mental breakdown.

In many ways, yes. Hustle culture often treats exhaustion as a badge of honor instead of a warning sign. When burnout is normalized, rest looks like weakness. Long term productivity actually depends on recovery, boundaries, and humane expectations, not constant pressure.
