Many of us know that sleep, exercise, or talking to someone would probably help, yet we still avoid them when we're struggling. Why do you think that happens, and how do you break the cycle?
Sometimes, yes. It's strange how we can know something will help, like exercising, getting enough sleep, or having a difficult conversation, and still put it off. Usually it's because getting started feels harder than the actual task.
I think it's because stress and low mood often drain the energy needed to do the very things that could help. Even simple tasks can feel overwhelming. I've found the best way to break the cycle is to start small, like taking a short walk or texting a friend, instead of waiting until I feel motivated.
