Constructive feedback can feel much heavier when someone is dealing with depression. A small correction may turn into thoughts about being useless or failing at everything. How can managers give clear workplace feedback while recognizing that depression may affect self-esteem, concentration, motivation, and the way criticism is interpreted?

I think depression can make workplace feedback feel much heavier than it normally would. Even a reasonable suggestion might be taken personally when someone is already struggling with self-doubt. Having clear, respectful feedback and some understanding from coworkers can make those conversations feel less overwhelming.
