Serotonin Syndrome is a serious condition that occurs when a person takes two or more serotonergic medications. This syndrome can be life threatening if not treated right away. I recently watched an Youtube video telling the story of a woman who passed away from Serotonin Syndrome after an ER doctor kept sending her home thinking it was just anxiety she was dealing with. If you're taken SSRIs for mental health you need to be cautious about what other drugs you're taking. My wife takes SSRis for her depression but she's aware of what medications she can take, for example when she's sick with a cold she cannot have Robitussin since it will interfere with her medication.
