Is Social Media Amplifying Lifestyle Pressure?

Influencers and viral trends highlight curated diets, fitness, and fashion, often setting unrealistic standards. Does exposure motivate improvement, or increase stress, anxiety, and self-comparison? How can audiences critically engage with lifestyle content while protecting mental well-being?

Yes, social media often amplifies lifestyle pressure. Scrolling through curated feeds of friends, influencers, or celebrities can make everyday life feel inadequate. People compare achievements, appearances, and experiences constantly. Personally, I notice it more when I spend long periods online, so taking breaks or limiting exposure helps reduce that pressure.
