Racial trauma can create lasting emotional wounds, similar to post-traumatic stress. Do you think societies underestimate how systemic racism impacts long-term mental health?
 
@Hazel yes, the worst thing is that society just always overlooks the weight of racism and it's a big issue that needs to be addressed especially against the black community. It constantly erodes the peace of people over time. There should be more awareness and policies that recognizes the trauma that is associated with racism.
 
Racism always undermines the very core of the identity of a person. There is no way that a person that has experienced racism won't question his or her self worth. That's why the trauma that comes with racism always seems to be internalized and very hard to let go.
