Social anxiety can make gatherings tough. Are you using CBT or gradual exposure to ease discomfort? What’s your best tip for handling social situations? What are your strategies to cope up with social anxiety?

In public, social anxiety makes me feel self-conscious and tense, sometimes wanting to avoid attention. I manage it by breaking tasks into small steps, rehearsing interactions quietly, and using calming breaths. Repeated exposure also helps me feel more comfortable and less reactive in social situations.

Social anxiety is intense fear of being judged or embarrassed in public. It often arises from genetics, past experiences, or learned behavior, not a weak personality. Consequences include avoidance, low confidence, and stress. You can manage it by practicing gradual exposure, mindfulness, deep breathing, positive self-talk, and seek therapy or support to build coping skills and confidence.
