Who do you like talking to about your mental health outside of therapy?

Therapy can be a hugely beneficial option to help someone deal with their mental health. I have never gone to therapy myself, but I have considered it before. But I think I have enough family and friends to talk to where if I'm feeling really down, I can find someone close to talk to. With that being said, who do you like to talk to about your mental health outside of going to therapy?

I like to talk to my parents, brother and a couple close friends. What about you?

I tend to discuss it with a close friend of mine that I trust. Maybe it is just easier to open up to the person who only listens without being judgmental or attempting to correct you in the situation. Therapists are wonderful, however there is a comfort in speaking to someone that knows you personally. It makes the weight lighter.

I always talk to my life mentor when I have challenges that depress me. I feel confident talking to him because he seems to have faced circumstances similar to mine. And he always gives me solutions that always gets me out of the depression. He is a diplomatic and has emotional intelligence to handle depressing situations of people.

I usually talk to my mother about my mental health. She listens without judgment and somehow always knows what to say. Even if she doesn’t fully understand everything, her support makes me feel grounded and less alone.
