Generative AI is ever so popular these days, and it's gotten to the point that you can now have your own AI companion, either via video or text chat. There are a ton of apps out there now that give you an AI companion or chat bot that you can talk to and get to know. Would you ever use one of these AI chatbots to talk to? Do you think there is a use for something like this to help people more often? Maybe they're alone and don't have anyone to talk to, or people don't understand them, so AI comes into play.

I don't believe in Al companions. They won't give me the same level of emotional connection that a human can give me. What if my reactions and response suddenly becomes extremely weird? An AI companion would not understand the way a human companion would. AI companion is a No for me.

I frequently use Gen AI tools like ChatGPT to analyze not just physical problems but even emotions and mental health. Last time I used ChatGPT, I shared my kid's traits and asked it my kid actually has ADHD. However, I don't blindly trust ChatGPT responses, I just use it as a reference. For instance, based on the characteristics I provided to ChatGPT, my kid seemed to have some milder symptoms of ADHD, however, according to expert, my kid is perfectly fine and there is no any ADHD issue.

I use an AI chatbot when thoughts feel heavy and silence feels loud. I believe chat systems can offer comfort during lonely moments. I see value for people unseen or unheard. I view this technology as space for reflection, release, and emotional breathing room rather than replacement for real connection.

Sometimes I use AI as a guide to understand certain mental health conditions or to get clarity on what I’m feeling. But I don’t rely on it for solutions or real therapy. For actual healing and support, I believe human connection and professional help are still essential.
