You are definitely not the only one who feels that way. That tug-of-war between guilt for feeling happy and guilt for not feeling happy is more common than people admit. It often comes from believing that happiness must be “earned” or that others’ pain somehow cancels out your right to joy. But happiness doesn’t mean ignoring suffering, it means acknowledging both sides of life and still allowing yourself to feel light when it comes.
