I don't read before bed, I don't read to feel drowsy and get to sleep. I read in the afternoon and I read to build knowledge and perception. However, reading before bed has a lot of benefits, especially for mental and emotional health. When you pick up a book before bed, you will obviously cut your screen time, which is good for your mental health. Reading before bed time also reduces your stress, improves sleep quality, builds empathy (because we constantly put ourselves in the shoes of the characters from the book we are reading), and improves cognitive functions in the long run because reading strengthens brain's ability to understand.
