I don't read before bed, I don't read to feel drowsy and get to sleep. I read in the afternoon and I read to build knowledge and perception. However, reading before bed has a lot of benefits, especially for mental and emotional health. When you pick up a book before bed, you will obviously cut your screen time, which is good for your mental health. Reading before bed time also reduces your stress, improves sleep quality, builds empathy (because we constantly put ourselves in the shoes of the characters from the book we are reading), and improves cognitive functions in the long run because reading strengthens brain's ability to understand.
Do you read before bed?

For many, reading before bed helps signal to the brain that the day is ending. A calm book can reduce stimulation from screens, lower stress, and make it easier to fall asleep. It works best when the reading is light and not too intense or emotionally charged.
Some people find it improves sleep quality, while others prefer other routines like music or breathing exercises. It really depends on what helps your mind slow down.
Not as a habit but sometimes I read before bed.

I don’t read before bed, but I know many people who do. Reading before sleep can help calm the mind, reduce screen exposure, and make it easier to fall asleep. It also helps people unwind and shift attention away from daily stress.

I haven't read before bed for many years now, but I remember when I was a kid, I would read for around an hour a night, every night before I went to sleep, and it really did help not only with my mental health, but also with me remembering things as well, and I felt much better when waking in the morning.

I used to do a lot of studying when I was in school and college before bed, and I felt that helped what I read and learned stick in my mind, ready for a lesson or exam the next day.
