Any experiences with an abusive boss?

It can be energy draining when we have a boss at work that is so much focused know abusing the hell out of the workers. I mean verbally abusing the worker at any given opportunity. Have you had such a boss at work? How were you able to handle that?

Frankly speaking, I do not have much experiences with working in an organization but with my limited experience, I can say I certainly have met an abusive boss. I was working as a supervisor for a mining company. Once day when I was relaxing with my family during weekend, my boss called me and asked me to go to the mine. I told him, I was with family and I would go the very next day. Hearing this he threatened me to fire, I just resigned from the job.
