It is generally believed that depression might cause brain fog, but it is actually true? What do you think might cause brain fog in older people. Do you have older family members who experience brain fog? What kind of treatment are you using for managing brain fog?

I think there are many reasons as to why someone has brain fog. Could be caused by their diet, lack of fitness, depression, stress, anxiety, day to day life situations and more. As well, old age can definitely be a factor. The older you get, the more at risk you are for brain fog. Not only that, but you have to consider the many diseases and conditions that can spring up with old age, like dementia, Parkinson's, and more.

Yes, depression can cause brain fog due to reduced concentration and slower cognitive processing. In older adults, it’s often linked to stress, poor sleep, medications, or vitamin deficiencies. Treatments include exercise, hydration, balanced nutrition, mental stimulation, and addressing underlying conditions like anxiety or depression.

I have seen a brain fog in older adults that are close to me and it appears to me as though the person has become slower. They struggled to find their way back but it wasn't easy. It can be caused by stress, sometimes diet, lack of sleep or even medications. It happened to my grandma. She would go off in the middle of conversation. But the fog usually disappear if she eats well and drinks enough water. So, food can solve it a bit.
