Can AI Companions Improve Emotional Well-Being in Games?

Many new games use AI-driven characters that respond empathetically to players. Could these companions provide genuine comfort, or is it dangerous to rely on simulated emotions?

Well, it's possible to some extent, especially for lonely people. Some AI companions can really be comforting, like they actually understand you. But it's important not to forget that it's just a machine. I like the idea, but we need to be real, nothing passes real human friendship. The emotional side like the mall laughs or gist are what AI can't replace am.

I think AI companions can offer comfort, especially for loneliness or stress, because they respond predictably and non-judgmentally. They can also help practice social skills or provide a sense of support. But relying too heavily risks replacing real human connection, which is essential for emotional growth.

I do not think so. AI characters are fictional characters. They cannot come out if the game or support you in real life. I really do not understand the concept of robot girlfriend. They are not real humans and they cannot replace humans.
