Have you ever discovered a close friend had romantic feelings for you? It can make things awkward, especially if you don't feel the same way.

Is it possible to stay friends after an honest rejection, or does it usually change everything?

I think friendship can survive unspoken feelings if both people are respectful, emotionally aware, and able to manage boundaries without creating tension. However, if those feelings grow or create misunderstandings, they can slowly affect trust and comfort over time.

It is in two ways. There are those who would stay after a situation where they were rejected and try to be just friends. Also, some won't want to stick to such friendship, and I must admit that I belong to this second category.

Some friendships survive an honest rejection if both people respect each other's boundaries and give things time to settle. Others change because the feelings are too strong. It depends on person to person. You need communication and mutual respect to make it work
