Some people recover without ever identifying the root of their pain. Do you think understanding “why” is essential for healing, or is acceptance enough?

One should identify the root cause of the pain so that correct action can be taken, without knowing the cause we cannot get it cured. People who don't go to the root cause of the problem cannot fully eliminate the problem.

I stopped trying to figure out why everything hurt. There was no reason behind it, I just did. I used to chase answers like they’d fix me, but they never did. One day, I just sat still, I didn’t try to find solutions and I didn’t try to run either. That could be where the healing is. It did the magic for me sometimes.

I think acceptance can be enough for many people to move forward, even without fully understanding the root cause. Healing often comes from acknowledging feelings and creating space for growth. Understanding “why” can deepen insight, but it’s not always necessary to find peace.

In some conditions, for instance PTSD, understanding the cause is important. In conditions like migraines, understanding trigger points is important. However, for some conditions like stress or anxiety or even depression, there is no need to understand the cause to heal. You can manage your symptoms
