Many people say social media increases comparison, anxiety, and distraction, while others find support and connection online. Which side do you lean toward, and why?

I partly agree. Social media can harm mental health through comparison, cyberbullying, and information overload, but it also offers support, community, and access to helpful resources. The impact depends on how it’s used. mindful, balanced use can provide benefits, while overuse or negative interactions can be harmful.

I don't agree that social media harms more than does good. Whether social media harms mental health or does good depend on how you are using social media. if you expose yourself with negative content, it certainly harms you.

I belong to the side that thinks social media can increase comparison, anxiety, and distraction, especially when it’s used passively or without boundaries. That said, it can still provide support and connection if used intentionally, like staying in touch with friends, joining helpful communities, or learning new skills. It really depends on how someone engages with it.
