Stress can make ordinary things feel much more annoying than they normally would. Noise, questions, delays, or small mistakes may suddenly trigger irritation. Why does stress lower patience, and how can someone tell when their anger is really connected to emotional exhaustion?

Yes, I get irritated much more easily when I’m already stressed. Small things that normally wouldn’t bother me can suddenly feel annoying. It’s usually not really about the person or situation itself. There’s just less patience left when my mind is already overloaded.

When stress keeps piling up, even small annoyances can feel like the final straw. Irritability, fatigue, poor sleep, and feeling overwhelmed can all be signs that anger is being fueled by emotional exhaustion rather than the situation itself. Chronic stress is closely linked with irritability and anger.
