Reading at night is one way that a lot of students push towards covering the topics that they've been taught in school. Remember, the night is a period when the said student ought to be sleeping. Do you think staying awake to read all night affects the brain?

Late night reading itself doesn’t harm the brain, but it can affect sleep if it delays rest. Poor or reduced sleep impacts memory, focus, and mood the next day. Reading stimulating or stressful content at night can also make it harder to relax.

I wouldn't say that staying up late to read affects the brain, but it can affect your sleep, which in turn can leave you feeling tired and can result in forgetting things or even not functioning properly.

Reading before you go to bed, though, especially when it comes to studying, can help a great deal, I have found and keep what you read and study, etched in your brain when you wake.

Yes, especially if it becomes a habit. Reading late at night can strain focus when you’re already tired, making it harder to process information deeply. It can also delay sleep, and that affects memory, mood, and attention the next day. Light reading is usually fine, but timing matters for learning and recovery.
