Do you think people will rely too heavily on generative AI in the near future?

I think we're already getting to a point where generative AI seems to be taking over, so much so that people are almost addicted to it now. I've also heard of people who have sort of become friends with their AI companion, to the point someone committed suicide. I don't remember specifically why, but I think it had something to do with the AI getting an update, essentially deleting the past interactions they had with this person.

But, do you think with the rise of generative AI, that we'll see more news stories about people relying too much on them? Are you worried that AI will make people more dumb too? I have a fear we'll rely too much on it, and forget how to actually live our lives.

I think people will be too depended on Gen AI. I believe they will use AI powered devices and tools. I even see the rise of AI powered humanoid robots that will provide companionship to people. I think people will be more interested in having an AI powered robot as a friend/partner than having a human friend/partner. But I don't think this will be mainstream practice.

Yes, I think people may rely heavily on generative AI soon. Its speed and convenience make it tempting to use for writing, problem-solving, or research. The risk is overdependence, which can weaken critical thinking, creativity, and judgment if humans stop verifying or analyzing AI output carefully.
