When someone is struggling with mental health issues or conditions, cooking, cleaning, finances, or childcare may become difficult. How should families divide responsibilities when one person's mental health temporarily limits what they can manage? How much does your mental health affect your household responsibilities?

Mental health struggles can sometimes make everyday household responsibilities feel much harder. Things like cooking, cleaning, paying bills, or keeping up with routines can require more energy than usual. It doesn't mean someone is lazy or doesn't care. Sometimes adjusting expectations and sharing responsibilities can make things more manageable.
