Have you ever had to deal with human resources?

Have you ever had to deal with the human resources department of a company or business you worked for? I thankfully never had to deal with an HR person. Most of my jobs have been online work, and the companies I did work for, were kind of small and I don't think either of them had an HR department. I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say on the subject though.
