Have you ever reached out to a coworker who you suspected was going through a mental health crisis?

Sometimes the symptoms can be clear, you notice that one of your coworkers is starting to act differently than they once acted. It's also starting to affect their work and you can see that as well. Did you ever intervene when you noticed these changes with a coworker? I never did this myself but I would definitely try to lend a helping hand. You just never know what someone is going through and they might just need to have someone to vent to.

I’ve actually had a situation like that once at work where I started noticing someone was really withdrawn and not acting like themselves. I didn’t want to assume anything, so I just checked in with them privately and kept it simple, something like asking if they were doing okay and if anything was going on.

I mostly just listened. I didn’t try to fix it or give advice right away. Later on, they did open up a bit more, and I encouraged them to talk to someone who could support them properly.

It wasn’t a big dramatic moment, just a quiet check-in, but it felt like the right thing to do.
