Depression can change how someone responds to coworkers without them realizing it. They may stop joining conversations, avoid lunch, respond briefly, or seem less interested in teamwork. How can depression affect workplace relationships, and what can colleagues do to stay supportive without becoming intrusive or treating the person differently?

I think depression can make workplace relationships harder because someone may withdraw, communicate less, or struggle to respond normally to coworkers. Others might misunderstand that behavior as being unfriendly or uninterested. A little patience can make a big difference when someone is having a difficult period.
