How often do you go to the dentist?

Earlier this year I was having severe tooth pain so I needed to go to the dentist. I'm not proud to admit it but prior to that the last time I went to a dentist was in 2009. Since my first checkup early this year I've been to the dentist about 4 times. The second time I went was to pick up crowns that weren't in the office yet, so that doesn't really count I don't think but I went expecting to get my permanent crowns. The third time was to get my permanent crowns put in and I went last Monday to do a follow up of a periodontal disease cleaning. I have to return in three months to ensure that things are still going smoothly. How often do you go to the dentist?

It has been a long time since I have been to the dentist, mainly because of my anxiety when it comes to seeing the dentist.

Being that we are with the NHS in the UK, unfortunately, there are no spaces at the moment for adults under the NHS, so unless I have an emergency, I don't tend to see the dentist often.

Luckily, I don't have many issues with my teeth, the last issue I had was an abcess and that was back in 2013.
