Is Exercise the Best Therapy for Stress?

Many say physical activity helps release emotional tension. Have sports or workouts ever helped you overcome frustration or anxiety? What activity makes you feel emotionally lighter afterward?

I don't know if I'd say it's the best therapy towards stress, but it could certainly be one of the many options that works for some. I know some people would love to workout to curb their stress. But some others I know find working out a stressful thing, so in a way some don't find it as a therapeutic option. I think it depends on each person. I know for me, I dreaded working out, but that's because I'm overweight and working out is not very comfortable for me. But, it's more about doing what you can.

When I am stressed mentally and I can muster the strength to stand up and exercise, my attention shifts focus and my mind now dwells the mini goals that I want to achieve with that exercise session. By the end of that exercise session, I always feel better and relieved from that mental stress.
