I know we all have had friends move away or you move away from a group of friends. I had a friend to moves to Texas and I never got his new address. So I lost contact with him. It sucks, because we were good friends from kindergarten to middle school. I tried adding him as a friend on Facebook years ago, but he never accepted my request.

But have you ever had a friend move away on you? Or maybe you moved away and lost touch.

I wonder why your friend has not accepted your friend request.

That must be hurtful when you lose contact with a close friend, and sometimes it becomes difficult to deal with it as his/her memories always remain alive in our minds, and we wish to meet him/her. I have been in this situation and found it difficult to overcome the feeling, but with time things got fine.

For me, it brings a quiet kind of loneliness at first. There’s a sense of distance, not just physically but emotionally too. As time passes, I adjust, but it makes me value deeper connections more and realize how much shared presence actually matters.

@Brem . I am not sure why your friend did not accept your friendship request. That would hurt especially if you have been such close friends. When good friends go their ways, it does hurt and we feel very low. Situations change and equations in life change. When I was in college, I thought that my friends are inseparable from my lives. But then each one got busy with their lives and slowly priorities and obligations changed. Now, we don't interact much other than some occasional greeting on social media, some calls out of blues. But yes, there are lots and lots of memories to cherish. And no one can take them away.
