Medical Anxiety

Do you have medical anxiety? Do you fear going to the dentist or other doctor appointments because you're afraid of the outcome of your care? I've had dental anxiety for a long time, I had a few bad experiences with the dentist in the past and that caused me to develop a fear of the dentist. I still get anxious when I need to go to the dentist, but since going back early this year my anxiety has decreased a little bit. How do you overcome your anxiety when it comes to your medical care?

I sometimes feel that kind of anxiety because uncertainty makes appointments feel stressful. The fear usually comes from imagining worst-case outcomes. What helps is remembering that checkups provide clarity, and early information is almost always better than avoiding answers altogether.
