The debate over violent video games and real-world aggression never ends. Do games influence violent behavior, or are they just convenient scapegoats for deeper societal problems?

I don't think video games have that kind of affect on people. I think that violent video games can be a trigger for those who are already violent in nature, but I don't think video games are a cause or reason why people become violent. Usually those who become violent grew up in a bad way. Maybe they had a bad upbringing, bad parenting, we're bullied and or abused, and more.

People don't become violent out of nothing. It starts from something that happens in your life. Either that or someone has a severe mental health condition that makes them that way.

I think if we lump violent video games into this. I think we need to also bring up violent movies, TV, music and even books. Because if video games are a cause of violence, so are those other things mentioned.

No, I don't agree with you. I’ve played violent game since PS2 days like the GTA, Mortal Kombat, all of them, but I haven't turned into a street fighter. It depends on the person involved. If someone already has temper issues, maybe gaming will trigger it. But for most of us, it’s just a way to relax. Parents just need to monitor their children because that is important too.

Games are games. Games should not be taken seriously. When I used to play games during my childhood, I used to get aggressive. However, games never made me aggressive in my real life. This is an understandable thing.

I think blaming violent games entirely for aggressive behavior is too simplistic. While they might influence some players, aggression usually stems from a mix of personality, environment, and social factors. Context, moderation, and individual temperament matter far more than the games themselves.

There are some cases with violent behavior after playing violent games, especially when kids are playing, but there are not enough evidence to prove that playing violent games can make people aggressive. Well some people certainly get aggressive after playing the game, especially when they are on losing streak but that is only for a short time, they become normal after a while.

Violent video games can influence emotions in the short term, like increasing adrenaline or frustration, but evidence that they directly cause real-world violence is weak. Most players can separate fiction from reality without issue. Aggression in real life is usually shaped by deeper factors like upbringing, mental health, social environment, trauma, isolation, and economic stress. Games may reflect aggressive impulses, but they rarely create them on their own.
