Large gatherings can overwhelm introverts while energizing extroverts. How do you personally handle social events? Do you push yourself to attend or find ways to recharge afterward?

I don't usually attend social events unless I really have to. I've gone to my share of weddings and family gatherings, and to town wide events in the past. Personally I like to stay in at home, and not bother with people much. But usually I can handle large crowds as long as they aren't bothering me or trying to talk to me.

It helps bringing a friend or family member along with you though.

That's probably the same here, I don’t go to social functions unless I have to. To be honest , crowds drain me sometimes, but if I take a friend with me, I can handle it better, otherwise I’m that guy hanging near the food table waiting for it to end lol.

I don't push myself. However, based on my observation, some attend for a while, take breaks when needed, and leave before feeling overwhelmed. Others recharge afterward with quiet time, reading, or a relaxing walk so socializing doesn't become emotionally draining.
