This happens to the best of us, sometimes it's either a busy season or the type of work we do burns us out. We work many hours throughout the week, sometimes overtime as needed. What do you do when you're burnt out from work? Do you take leave? Transition to a different job or project?

Fortunately, my work has me working on several different projects at a given moment. When I become burnt out from one, I can shift my focus to the others and balance them all out.

I work from home. As a freelancer, sometimes I work 12 hours a day, and sometimes i don't have any work for days. I have never felt burned out. When I don't feel like working, I try to engage in hobby activities. I watch movies and shows, I cook and eat food, I go for a walk, and these activities help me calm my nerves.

When I start feeling burnt out, I try to identify what’s draining me most instead of pushing through on autopilot. Sometimes it’s workload, sometimes it’s lack of breaks, and sometimes it’s just doing the same thing for too long. I make sure to get away from screens, take a walk, or do something completely unrelated to work. Even a short reset can make a big difference in how I feel the next day.
