? After experiencing symptoms like delusions or intrusive thoughts, it can become difficult to rely on one’s own thinking. Doubt may linger even after stability returns. How do you rebuild trust in your thoughts? What helps you distinguish helpful from unhelpful thinking?

It’s hard to trust your own thoughts during recovery because your mind is still recalibrating.

Stress, anxiety, or past experiences can distort thinking patterns, making doubts feel more convincing than they are. You may also become overly self-critical or second-guess normal thoughts, which creates uncertainty.

Recovery takes time because your brain is learning to separate temporary emotional states from more stable, grounded thinking.

I think rebuilding trust takes time. Instead of believing every thought immediately, it helps to notice patterns and give yourself space before reacting. Talking things through with someone you trust can also provide perspective. Thoughts that stay consistent and match reality feel more reliable than those driven by fear or distress.
