Everyone experiences stress, but there comes a point where it begins affecting sleep, relationships, and daily life. How do you tell the difference between a stressful week and something that needs more attention?

I think stress becomes a mental health concern when it stops feeling temporary and begins affecting everyday life, sleep, relationships, work, or the ability to function normally. Occasional stress is part of life, but persistent or overwhelming stress deserves attention.

Stress feels more concerning when it lasts for a long time or starts changing how someone normally lives. Trouble sleeping, constant irritability, avoiding people, or struggling to concentrate can be signs that things are getting harder to manage. The difference isn’t always obvious, but noticeable changes in daily life are worth paying attention to.

I believe stress becomes a mental health problem when it starts interfering with everyday life rather than being a temporary reaction to a difficult situation. Constant worry, poor sleep, irritability, or losing interest in normal activities can be warning signs that stress is becoming harder to manage.
