Families sometimes notice changes in sleep, mood, appetite, concentration, or social behavior but are unsure what matters most. Keeping track of every small change can also become stressful. Which mental health symptoms are actually useful to monitor when someone is starting treatment or trying to understand a new pattern?

I think families can pay attention to noticeable changes in sleep, mood, appetite, energy, concentration, social behavior, and daily routines. Keeping track of patterns can make it easier to notice when something seems different. It’s also important not to treat every bad day as a sign of a serious problem.
