Discrimination, microaggressions, and social exclusion can heighten anxiety, depression, and identity struggles. Why do these external pressures impact mental health, and what support structures are most effective in mitigating risk?

The world we live in currently isn't kind to trans people unfortunately. With talks of the government removing gender affirming care for minors this has really increased the number of depression and suicidal tendencies in adolescents that are trans. If they no longer are able to access hormones or puberty blockers, this forces them to go through a stressful puberty that doesn't match their gender identity and this is the cause of depression and suicidal tendencies it's not because they're trans but rather those who are against them that cause this. Adolescents who are gay, bi or lesbian might still get discriminated against by family members, but society has come a long way to better accept those who are gay, bi, or lesbian.
