Speaking up in class may feel risky due to anxiety, fear of judgment, or cognitive difficulties during stressful periods. What makes participation difficult for you? What has helped build confidence in academic settings?

Classroom participation can feel intimidating because it puts you on the spot in front of others, where there’s pressure to be right and speak clearly. Fear of judgment, overthinking answers, or needing time to process ideas can make speaking up harder, even when you actually understand the topic well.
