Overthinking can amplify fears, distort perceptions, and increase emotional distress. It may create loops that are hard to break, especially during anxiety or mood changes. What patterns do you notice when overthinking starts? What helps you interrupt or manage these thought cycles?

Overthinking will trap the brain in repetitive, unproductive thought cycles. Overthinking will create rumination (dwelling on the past) or chronic worry (catastrophizing the future). Overthinking does not solve problems, it will trigger the body's stress response, lowers mood-regulating brain chemicals, and reinforces neural pathways, which ultimately makes negative thinking automatic.
