Open layouts can cause overstimulation and anxiety. Why do some employees struggle more than others? What workplace changes improve comfort and focus?

It can be challenging for introverts to work in an open office setting. This is the reason most offices make use of boxes to segregate each worker from another. Such moves have been helpful in giving each staff a sense of privacy in most workplaces.

Introverted employees often experience mental strain in open offices because constant noise, interruptions, and social interaction drain their energy. Without quiet space to recharge or focus, it can become harder to concentrate, leading to fatigue and stress over time.

I’ve seen people like these in workplaces, and I believe it can be tough for them. Constant noise, interruptions, and being around people all day seems draining if you’re more introverted. Some quiet spaces, flexible seating, or letting people work with headphones can make a big difference.
