Someone may stop attending therapy after symptoms improve, even if deeper issues have not been fully addressed. Sometimes the decision works out, while other times old problems return later. Why do people stop therapy when they feel better, and how can they think about ending treatment?

I can understand why someone might stop therapy once they start feeling better. There’s a natural feeling that the problem is finally behind them, so continuing can seem unnecessary. Sometimes the improvement itself creates confidence that handling things alone will be enough.
