Why do we often delay asking for help until things get worse?

Is it because we underestimate what we are going through, or because asking feels uncomfortable? What usually pushes you to finally reach out for support?

People often delay asking for help because of pride, fear of judgment, or not wanting to burden others. Sometimes they also underestimate how serious things are at first or hope they can handle it alone. By the time they reach out, the situation has often already become more overwhelming.
